HOW TO PRACTICE GRATITUDE (you'll feel so much better)

Hi DRMERS,

Nina here to share my two cents on the art of practicing gratitude. I’m going to be honest; this is a NEW thing for me too.

Look I get it, I do, it's easy to get caught up in the business of life. You're working hard to establish your career, build relationships, and find your place in the world. It can be easy to take things for granted or get stuck in negative thinking patterns.

I learnt recently that one habit that can foster positive vibes is cultivating gratitude and finding ways to give back.

When you take time to appreciate what you have and give to others, you shift your focus from scarcity to abundance, and open a world of possibilities.

Here’s what I implemented into my daily routine to help shift my mindset and focus my energy on gratitude:

1.NO MORE NEGATIVE TALK

Every time I catch myself saying something negative, I try to follow that thought or statement by saying something I am grateful for.

For example: If I said, “I hate that it’s raining AGAIN, this sucks so bad” I’d follow up with “but I am grateful that the plants and crops are getting the water they need.”

It’s okay to complain (sometimes it feels so good) but encouraging positive thoughts helps you appreciate all the good things that are happening that you might overlook.

2.TELL YOUR LOVED ONES YOU APPRECIATE THEM

Doesn’t it feel so good when you do something for someone, and they tell you how much they appreciate you?

Come on we all know, the insane serotonin boosts from getting a compliment like that.

So when I remember, I text, call, or tell someone that did something for me that I am grateful for them.

Doing this encourages you to do things for others, and to become more aware and appreciative of the things others do for you.

3.BE KIND

Practice random acts of kindness: These acts don’t always have to be monetary, but once I started to go out of my way to do nice things for people, I noticed how much happier I felt and it started becoming second nature.

These small acts can make a big impact.

Remember, cultivating gratitude and giving back isn't just about making a difference in the world – it's also about improving your own happiness and well-being.

By taking time to appreciate what you have and giving to others, you'll find that life feels a little bit brighter and more fulfilling.

Thanks for listening.

lots of love,

Nina <3
